How Do I Show Fonts in Figma?

Last updated on September 29, 2022 @ 12:13 am

There are a few different ways that you can show fonts in Figma. One way is to use the Text tool and click on the Text icon in the toolbar. This will open the Text panel, where you can select a font from the drop-down menu.

Another way is to use the Character Styles panel. To open this panel, go to Window > Character Styles. Here, you can create a new character style and select a font from the drop-down menu.

PRO TIP: If you are not familiar with Figma, we recommend that you do not attempt to show fonts in Figma. Doing so may result in unexpected changes to your design or file.

Once you’ve selected a font, you can then style it using the various options in the Text panel or Character Styles panel. For example, you can change the font size, color, alignment, and more. You can also add effects such as shadows or strokes.

To apply a character style to your text, simply select the text you want to style and then click on the character style in the Character Styles panel. Alternatively, you can use the keyboard shortcut Cmd+Opt+Shift+S (Mac) or Ctrl+Alt+Shift+S (Windows).
