How do I SSH into Google Cloud?

SSH into Google Cloud can be done using either the Google Cloud Platform Console or the Google Cloud Shell.

To SSH into Google Cloud using the Google Cloud Platform Console:

1. Log in to the Google Cloud Platform Console.

2. In the left-hand navigation bar, click Accounts.

3. In the Accounts pane, click Google Compute Engine.

4. On the Google Compute Engine page, in the Servers and Projects section, click SSH.

5. In the SSH section, click the SSH into Google Cloud button.

6. In the Authorization dialog, type your Google Cloud Platform credentials.

7. If you are prompted to allow the remote server to access your Google Drive, click Allow.

8. In the Remote Desktop Connection dialog, type the path to the Google Cloud Shell instance on which you want to SSH into Google Cloud.

9. In the Host field, type the IP address or hostname of the Google Cloud Shell instance.

10. In the Port field, type the port on which the Google Cloud Shell instance is running.

11. Click Connect.

To SSH into Google Cloud using the Google Cloud Shell:

PRO TIP: If you are trying to SSH into your Google cloud account, be aware that there are potential risks involved. Your account could be hacked or you could be locked out if you do not follow the proper procedures. Make sure that you understand the risks before proceeding.

1. Log in to the Google Cloud Shell. In the left-hand navigation bar, click Shells. In the Shells pane, click the name of the Google Cloud Shell instance you want to SSH into. In the Argument field, type -p 8443. Type your Google Cloud Platform credentials in the Auth field. Type the path to the Google Cloud Shell instance on which you want to SSH into Google Cloud in the Path field. Type the port on which the Google Cloud Shell instance is running in the Port field. Type -v to display the output of the Google Cloud Shell instance. Press Enter to execute the command.

You should now be logged into the Google Cloud Shell instance.
