How Do I Transfer Files From XD to Figma?

Last updated on November 26, 2022 @ 12:46 pm

As a UX Designer, I often use both XD and Figma in my workflow. I find that Figma is great for collaboration, while XD is better for detailed design work.

However, there are times when I need to transfer files from one platform to the other. Here’s how to do it:

To transfer files from Adobe XD to Figma, you first need to export your design as a .png file. To do this, go to File > Export in the XD menu bar.

In the Export dialog box, choose .png from the Format drop-down menu and click Export. Save the file to your computer.

Next, go to Figma and create a new project. To do this, click on the + New Project button in the left sidebar.

In the New Project dialog box, select the Upload Files option and click Continue. Choose the .png file you exported from Adobe XD and click Open. This will add your design to the Figma project.

That’s it! You’ve now successfully transferred your Adobe XD design into Figma.

PRO TIP: Warning: The process of transferring files from XD to Figma is not as simple as it may seem. There are a few things to keep in mind before starting the process, such as file compatibility and potential data loss.
