How Do I Transfer My Wix Site?

Last updated on September 30, 2022 @ 10:12 pm

There are a few different ways that you can go about transferring your Wix site. You can either do it yourself, or you can hire someone to do it for you.

If you want to do it yourself, the first thing you need to do is export your Wix site. To do this, go to your Wix account and click on the ‘Export Site’ button. This will allow you to save your site as an HTML file.

Exciting update! We've collaborated with Wix to offer WBI users with a free plan for all website creation needs - Explore the details here.

Once you have exported your site, you will need to find a new host for your site. There are a number of different hosts that you can choose from, but we recommend that you choose one that offers a free plan.

Once you have found a new host, the next step is to create a new account with them. Once you have done this, you will need to upload the HTML file that you exported from Wix. Most hosts will have an ‘Upload Site’ button somewhere on their dashboard.

The final step is to point your domain name to your new host. This is usually done by changing the ‘DNS’ (Domain Name System) records with your domain name registrar.

Hiring Someone To Transfer Your Wix Site

If you don’t want to transfer your Wix site yourself, then you can always hire someone to do it for you. There are a number of companies that offer this service, and they will usually charge a one-time fee for the transfer.

There are pros and cons to both transferring your Wix site yourself, or hiring someone to do it for you. If you hire someone, it will undoubtedly be more expensive than doing it yourself.

However, it may save you some time and headaches if you’re not comfortable with website transfers. Ultimately, the decision of how to transfer your Wix site is up to you.

PRO TIP: If you are planning to transfer your Wix site to another hosting platform, it is important to note that there may be some limitations. For example, Wix sites cannot be transferred to WordPress. Additionally, your Wix site will need to be rebuilt on the new platform, which may require some additional work.
