How Do I Upload Products to WooCommerce?

Last updated on January 18, 2023 @ 3:14 pm

Adding products to your WooCommerce store is a breeze! In this article, we’ll show you how to add both simple and variable products to your WooCommerce store.

How to Add Simple Products to WooCommerce

Simple products are those that have a single SKU and price. To add a simple product to your WooCommerce store, follow these steps:

PRO TIP: If you are planning to upload products to WooCommerce, please be aware that there is a risk of data loss. WooCommerce does not have a built-in product import/export tool, so you will need to use a third-party plugin or tool to import your products. We recommend backing up your WooCommerce database before beginning any product import/export process.
  1. Log in to your WordPress site and go to WooCommerce > Products. This brings you to the Products page, where you can see all the products that have already been added to your store.
  2. Click the Add Product button at the top of the page. This will take you to the Add Product page, where you can enter all the product details.
  3. Enter a product name and description. The product name is what will appear on your website, while the description is for your own reference.
  4. Set a price and inventory options. You can enter the regular price of your product, as well as any sale price that might be applicable. If you want to track inventory for this product, you can enter the stock quantity here as well.
  5. Configure shipping and tax options. Shipping options let you set whether or not this product needs shipping, and if so, how much it will cost to ship. Tax options let you set whether or not taxes apply to this product, and if so, which tax rates apply.
  6. Upload an image. This is the image that will be displayed on your website for this product. You can upload it from your computer, or select one from your media library.
  7. Publish. When you’re finished adding all the details for your product, click the Publish button at the top of the page.

Your simple product is now live on your website!
