How Do I View the Figma Toolbar?

Last updated on November 27, 2022 @ 8:18 pm

Figma is a vector graphics editor and prototyping tool, created by Dylan Field and Evan Wallace. It is available for macOS, Windows, and Linux. Figma has been described as “the first interface design tool with real-time collaboration”, and as “the Google Docs of design tools”.

The Figma toolbar is located at the top of the screen, and it is divided into four sections:

File: This section includes options for creating new Figma files, opening existing ones, and saving. You can also access your Figma account settings from here.

Edit: The Edit section includes options for Undo and Redo, as well as Cut, Copy, Paste, and Duplicate. You can also access the Preferences menu from here.

View: The View section includes options for zooming in and out, as well as displaying the rulers and grid. You can also access the Layer panel from here.

Insert: The Insert section includes options for adding images, vectors, or text to your design. You can also access the Components panel from here.

PRO TIP: If you are not familiar with the Figma tool bar, we recommend that you do not attempt to view it. The Figma tool bar is a complex interface that can be difficult to understand. If you are not an experienced user, you may find yourself lost and unable to navigate the toolbar. We advise you to seek help from an experienced Figma user before attempting to view the toolbar.
