Adding a Background Pattern in Figma

Figma is a vector drawing program that allows you to create designs for websites, apps, and more. One of the great things about Figma is that you can add background patterns to your design.

This can make your design more interesting and unique. Here’s how you can add a background pattern in Figma:

  1. First, open the project that you want to add the background pattern to. Then, click on the “Add” button in the left sidebar. This will open the “Add Assets” window.

  2. In the “Add Assets” window, select “Pattern” from the drop-down menu. Then, click on the “Upload your own image” button.

PRO TIP: If you are not familiar with Figma, we recommend that you do not attempt to add a background pattern. This can be a complex process and if done incorrectly, can result in undesirable results.
  3. This will open a new window where you can upload an image from your computer. Select the image that you want to use as your background pattern and click on the “Open” button.

  4. Once the image is uploaded, you’ll see it in the “Add Assets” window. You can now adjust the size of the image by clicking on the “Size” drop-down menu and selecting “Custom size. ”

  5. Enter the width and height that you want your background pattern to be. Then, click on the “Add” button.

  6. Your background pattern will now be added to your design!

That’s all there is to adding a background pattern in Figma! With this method, you can easily add patterns to any of your designs. Experiment with different patterns and see what looks best for your project.
