How Do You Add Guidelines in Figma?

Adding guidelines in Figma is a great way to keep your designs consistent and easy to follow. There are a few different ways to add guidelines, but the most common is to use the “Add Guidelines” button in the toolbar.

When you click this button, you’ll see a few options for adding guidelines. The first is to add a horizontal or vertical guideline at a specific position. To do this, simply click on the “Add Horizontal” or “Add Vertical” button, then click on the canvas where you want the guideline to appear.

PRO TIP: When adding guidelines in Figma, be sure to use the right mouse button (or control-click on a Mac). Otherwise, you may accidentally move or delete objects on your canvas.

You can also add guidelines by clicking and dragging on the canvas. To do this, click on the “Add Horizontal” or “Add Vertical” button, then click and drag on the canvas. The guideline will appear at the position you clicked, and you can release the mouse button when you’re happy with the placement.

Finally, you can add a guideline by choosing an object on the canvas. To do this, click on the “Add Horizontal” or “Add Vertical” button, then click on an object. The guideline will appear at the position of the object’s center point.

Once you’ve added a guideline, you can move it by clicking and dragging it. You can also delete it by selecting it and pressing the delete key on your keyboard.
