How Do You Add Special Characters in Squarespace?

Last updated on December 30, 2022 @ 8:07 pm

There are a few ways to add special characters in Squarespace. One way is to use the HTML character codes. These are numbers that correspond to specific characters.

For example, the code for the copyright symbol is ©. To use this method, you’ll need to know the HTML code for the character you want to use. You can find a list of HTML character codes here: http://www.asciitable.com/.

To add a character using an HTML code, you’ll need to wrap the code in an opening and closing tag. The opening tag is <code> and the closing tag is </code>. For example, to add the copyright symbol, you would use the following code:

<code>©</code>

Another way to add special characters in Squarespace is to use the Special Characters dialog box. To access this, click on the Insert menu and then select Special Characters.

This will bring up a dialog box with a variety of different characters that you can insert. Simply click on the character you want to insert and then click OK.

You can also style text using HTML tags. The <p> tag is used for paragraphs, the <b> tag is used for bold text, and the <u> tag is used for underlined text. For example, to make a paragraph of text bold, you would use the following code:

<p><b>This is bold text</b></p>

Adding special characters in Squarespace is easy once you know how. Using either HTML character codes or the Special Characters dialog box will let you insert any character you need. You can also style text using HTML tags to make it stand out more.

PRO TIP: Adding special characters in Squarespace can be tricky and may not work as expected. If you are not careful, you may end up with unexpected results.
