How do you automatically trace an image in Photoshop?

Last updated on September 23, 2022 @ 8:09 pm

Tracing an image in Photoshop is a great way to keep track of where a image was taken and edited. There are a few different ways to trace an image in Photoshop, but the most common is to use the Lasso tool. First, make sure that the image is selected. Next, use the Lasso tool to select the area that you want to trace.

PRO TIP: If you are not careful, automatically tracing an image in Photoshop can result in a loss of quality. Make sure to set the tracing options correctly before starting the process, or you may end up with a blurry or jagged image.

Finally, use the Path Selection tool to create a path around the area that you selected with the Lasso tool. Once you have created the path, you can use the Blur tool to blur the edges of the path, if desired.
