Last updated on September 24, 2022 @ 3:39 pm

Whether you’re wanting to move an object to a different location or simply change its color, using the copy and paste function in Photoshop can be a quick and easy way to make edits. Here’s a step-by-step guide on how to do it:

1. First, open the image you want to edit in Photoshop.

2. Then, use the selection tool of your choice to select the area you want to copy. For this example, we’ll use the lasso tool.

3. Once the area is selected, press “Ctrl+C” (or “Command+C” on a Mac) to copy it.

4. Now, open the destination image where you want to paste the selection. This can be a new document or another layer in the same document.

5. Press “Ctrl+V” (or “Command+V” on a Mac) to paste the selection into the new location.

6. If you want to move the selection, simply click and drag it to the desired location. To change its color, go to Image > Adjustments > Hue/Saturation and use the slider to adjust the hue until you’re happy with the result.

That’s all there is to it! By following these simple steps, you can easily copy and paste edits in Photoshop.

PRO TIP: Warning: Copying and pasting edits in Photoshop can be dangerous. If you’re not careful, you can easily end up with a mess of pixels that are difficult to fix.
