How Do You Crop on Photoshop?

Last updated on September 24, 2022 @ 3:40 pm

Cropping is a basic photo editing technique. It involves cutting out a section of an image that you don’t want, and then saving the new, smaller image. You can crop an image in Photoshop by using the Crop tool.

To crop an image using the Crop tool, first select the tool from the Tools palette. Then click and drag on the image to select the area you want to keep.

PRO TIP: Crop tool is one of the basic Photoshop tools, and it’s important to learn how to use it correctly. Otherwise, you may end up with images that are distorted or have unwanted elements in them.

To crop the selection, press Enter (Windows) or Return (Mac). The cropped area will remain selected so that you can move it if needed.

If you want to crop an image to a specific size, you can enter the width and height values in the options bar at the top of the screen. Photoshop will automatically adjust the selection so that it’s the correct size.

Once you’re happy with the selection, press Enter (Windows) or Return (Mac) to crop the image.
