How Do You Do Gaussian Blur in Figma?

Last updated on September 28, 2022 @ 10:43 pm

There are a few ways to do Gaussian Blur in Figma. One way is to use the Blur filter in the Effects section of the Appearance panel. Another way is to use the Gaussian Blur filter in the Filter Gallery.

To use the Blur filter, select an object, go to the Effects section of the Appearance panel, and click on the Blur icon. A slider will appear that you can use to adjust the amount of blur.

PRO TIP: Warning: Gaussian Blur is a premium feature in Figma and is not available on the free plan. If you try to use Gaussian Blur without a premium plan, your design will be low-resolution and pixelated.

To use the Gaussian Blur filter, select an object, go to the Filter Gallery, and click on the Gaussian Blur icon. A dialog box will appear where you can enter a value for the amount of blur.

Both of these methods will give you a nice, soft blur. If you want a more intense blur, you can try using the Motion Blur or Radial Blur filters in the Filter Gallery.
