Have you ever had someone just completely disappear on you? No phone calls, no text messages, no posts on social media, nothing?

That’s called ghosting, and it’s a pretty common occurrence these days.

Now, we’re not talking about the kind of ghosting that happens when someone dies. We’re talking about the kind of ghosting that happens when someone just decides to stop all communication with you without any explanation. It’s rude, it’s hurtful, and it’s happened to all of us at one point or another.

If you’ve been ghosted, you know how frustrating it can be. You want to know what happened, you want to know why they just disappeared on you, and you want to know how to fix it.

Unfortunately, there’s no surefire way to fix ghosting. But there are a few things you can do to try to get some answers.

1. Give them time

The first thing you need to do is give them time. If someone has suddenly stopped all communication with you, they may just need some time to themselves.

They may be dealing with something in their personal life that they don’t want to share with you. Or they may be having second thoughts about the relationship and they’re not sure how to break it off. Whatever the case may be, give them some time.

2. Reach out to them

If you’ve given them some time and they still haven’t reached out to you, the next thing you can do is reach out to them yourself. Send them a text message or give them a call.

If they don’t answer, don’t take it personally – they may just not be ready to talk yet. If they do answer, try to have a conversation with them about what’s going on.

3. Accept that there may not be a resolution

Unfortunately, there are some cases where ghosting is unavoidable. If someone is determined to disappear from your life, there may not be anything you can do about it. In these cases, the best thing you can do is accept that there is no resolution and move on.
