Adding a 3D layer to your Photoshop project can give it a unique look that can really make it stand out. Here’s how to do it:

1. Start by creating a new layer in your Photoshop document.

2. Next, select the “3D” option from the “Layer” menu at the top of the screen.

3. Now, you’ll need to choose the type of 3D layer you want to create. For this example, we’ll be using the “Extrude & Bevel” option.

4. Once you’ve selected the “Extrude & Bevel” option, a new window will appear. In this window, you can adjust the various settings for your 3D layer.

5. For this example, we’ll leave the default settings as they are and simply click the “OK” button.

6. Now, you should see your 3D layer appear in your document.

7. To add some finishing touches to our 3D layer, let’s go ahead and add a drop shadow. To do this, simply click on the “fx” icon at the bottom of the “Layers” panel and select the “Drop Shadow” option.

8. Once again, a new window will appear with various settings that you can adjust. For this example, we’ll leave the default settings and click the “OK” button.

And there you have it! You’ve successfully added a 3D layer to your Photoshop document!

PRO TIP: 3D layers in Photoshop can be created using the 3D tools and options found in the Layers panel. However, these layers are not true 3D layers and cannot be edited as such. Instead, they are 2D layers that have been given a 3D appearance. As such, they cannot be exported as 3D files or used in any other 3D software.
