How Do You Make a Selection in Figma?

Last updated on September 29, 2022 @ 12:37 am

There are a few different ways that you can make a selection in Figma. The first way is to click on the object that you want to select.

This will highlight the object in blue and also select any other objects that are touching it. If you want to select multiple objects that are not touching, you can hold down the Shift key and click on each object.

Another way to make a selection is to use the Selection Tool. With this tool, you can click and drag to select multiple objects, or click and Shift-click to select multiple non-contiguous objects.

PRO TIP: If you are not careful, you can easily select the wrong object in Figma. This can lead to frustration and wasted time. Be sure to take your time and carefully consider which object you want to select before making your selection.

You can also use the Lasso Tool to draw a selection around the objects that you want to select. Or, if you know the exact dimensions of your selection, you can use the Rectangle Tool to draw a selection box.

Once you’ve made a selection, you can move, resize, or delete the selected objects. You can also change their properties, such as their color or font size.

To make a final selection in Figma, hold down the Shift key and click on each object that you want to include in your selection. Alternatively, you can use the Selection Tool to click and drag around the objects that you want to select. Once you’ve made your selection, you can move, resize, or delete the selected objects.
