Last updated on January 26, 2023 @ 3:56 pm

In this tutorial, we’ll learn how to make a vaporwave grid in Photoshop. We’ll be using the Rectangle Tool (U), the Pen Tool (P), and the Layer Styles panel to create this effect.

First, open up a new document in Photoshop. We’ll be working with a canvas size of 1024x768px.

Next, we’ll create a grid using the Rectangle Tool. To do this, simply click and drag out a rectangle on the canvas. Make sure that the rectangle is evenly spaced out from the other rectangles on the canvas.

Once you have your grid of rectangles, we’ll need to add some color to them. To do this, we’ll use the Layer Styles panel. Double-click on one of the rectangles to open up the Layer Styles panel.

In the Layer Styles panel, click on the “Color Overlay” option. This will allow us to change the color of our rectangle.

Choose a light blue color for your rectangle’s color overlay. Then, click on the “OK” button to close the Layer Styles panel.

Repeat this process for each of the other rectangles on the canvas, choosing different colors for each one. Once you’re finished, you should have a colorful grid of rectangles on your canvas.

Now that we have our grid of rectangles, we’ll need to add some text to it. To do this, we’ll use the Pen Tool (P).

Using the Pen Tool, click and drag out a path on your canvas. Make sure that your path is evenly spaced out from the other paths on your canvas.

Once you have your path created, open up the Layer Styles panel by double-clicking on the path layer in your Layers panel. In the Layer Styles panel, click on the “Stroke” option and choose a white color for your stroke.

Then, increase the stroke width until it’s about 3px. After that, click on the “OK” button to close the Layer Styles panel.

So there you have it! That’s how you can create a vaporwave grid in Photoshop using the Rectangle Tool (U), Pen Tool (P), and Layer Styles panel.

PRO TIP: This note is to warn you about the possible dangers of using Photoshop to create a vaporwave grid. While it is possible to create a vaporwave grid in Photoshop, there are a number of risks associated with doing so. First and foremost, if you do not know how to use Photoshop properly, you can easily damage your image files. Additionally, if you are not careful, you may end up creating a grid that is too small or too large for your needs. Finally, if you are not familiar with the vaporwave aesthetic, you may end up creating a grid that does not fit the look and feel of the style.
