How do you make distressed texture in Illustrator?

Distressed textures can be created in Adobe Illustrator by applying a grungy texture to a layer. The grungy texture can be created by using a dirt texture, a grunge texture, or a dust texture. To create a dirt texture, open the File menu and select Texture. In the Texture dialog box, select the Dirt texture. To create a grunge texture, open the File menu and select Texture. In the Texture dialog box, select the Grunge texture. To create a dust texture, open the File menu and select Texture. In the Texture dialog box, select the Dust texture. After selecting the texture, in the Layers panel, click the Add Layer button. In the Layer dialog box, select the new layer and click the OK button. Double-click the layer in the Layers panel to open the texture panel. In the texture panel, click the Add Texture button. In the Add Texture dialog box, select the grunge texture, the dirt texture, or the dust texture. After adding the layer, in the Layers panel, click the Distressed button. In the Distressed dialog box, adjust the settings to create the desired distressed texture. After adjusting the settings, in the Layers panel, click the OK button. To create the distressed texture in a document, in the Illustrator workspace, open the document. In the Layers panel, click the Distressed button.
