How Do You Scale in Photoshop?

Last updated on September 23, 2022 @ 8:36 pm

There are a few different ways that you can scale in Photoshop. You can use the Free Transform tool, which is located under the Edit menu.

You can also use the Scale command, which is located under the Image menu. Lastly, you can use the Crop tool to scale your image.

PRO TIP: When scaling an image in Photoshop, it is important to note that the image quality may suffer if the image is scaled up too much. If possible, it is best to use a higher resolution image when scaling up, or to scale the image up in small increments.

The Free Transform tool is the most versatile way to scale in Photoshop. With this tool, you can scale your image by dragging the handles on the bounding box. You can also hold down the Shift key to constrain the proportions of your image as you scale it.

The Scale command lets you enter specific dimensions for your scaled image. This can be useful if you need to resize your image for print or web. To access the Scale command, go to Image > Scale.

The Crop tool can be used to scale your image by cropping out unwanted areas. To crop your image, select the Crop tool and then drag over the area you want to keep. Then, press Enter or Return to crop your image.
