How Do You Separate an Object From the Background in Photoshop?

In Photoshop, there are a few ways to separate an object from the background. One way is to use the “Select and Mask” tool. To do this, first make a selection around the object you want to isolate.

Then, go to the “Select and Mask” tool, which is located in the top toolbar. In the “Select and Mask” window, use the various tools to refine the edges of your selection. Once you’re happy with the selection, click “OK” to complete the process.

PRO TIP: If you are not careful, you can end up with a jagged edge on your object.

Another way to separate an object from the background is to use the “Pen Tool.” To do this, select the “Pen Tool” from the toolbar and draw a path around the object you want to isolate.

Once you have drawn your path, right-click and select “Make Selection.” In the “Make Selection” window that pops up, select “New Layer with Layer Mask” and click “OK.” This will create a new layer with only your selected object on it, and the background will be masked out.

There are a few other ways to isolate an object from the background in Photoshop, but these are two of the most common methods. Experiment with both methods to see which one works best for your particular project.
