UpWork is a website where businesses and individuals can find freelancers for short-term or long-term projects. There are many different categories of freelancers on UpWork, ranging from web developers to virtual assistants.

Businesses and individuals can post a job on UpWork, and then freelancers can apply to that job. If the business or individual likes the freelancer’s proposal, they can award the job to that freelancer.

UpWork takes a cut of every job that is awarded through their website. For jobs that are less than $500, UpWork charges a 20% fee. For jobs that are between $500 and $10,000, UpWork charges a 10% fee.

And for jobs that are over $10,000, UpWork charges a 5% fee. So, if a business awards a $5,000 job to a freelancer through UpWork, UpWork will take a $500 cut.
