UpWork is a popular freelancing platform that allows businesses to connect with remote workers from all over the world. One of the main questions people have about UpWork is how much it costs per hour. Here is a breakdown of UpWork’s fees:

For every completed hour of work, the freelancer receives $0.01 and the client receives $0.01. So, for every $1.00 that a freelancer charges per hour, UpWork keeps $0.02 and the freelancer and client each receive $0.49.

Example: If a freelancer charges $10 per hour, then they will receive $9.80 per hour and the client will pay $10.00 per hour to UpWork. UpWork’s fee in this case would be $0.20 per hour.

While this may seem like a small fee, it can add up when you consider that most clients hire multiple freelancers and many freelancers work for multiple clients.

Here’s a breakdown of how much you can expect to pay in fees when using UpWork:

For every completed hour of work, the freelancer receives $0.

So, for every $1.

Example: If a freelancer charges $10 per hour, then they will receive $9.

UpWork’s fee in this case would be $0.

While this may seem like a small fee, it can add up when you consider that most clients hire multiple freelancers and many freelancers work for multiple clients.

PRO TIP: Upwork charges a service fee of 20% for the first $500 you bill your client, 10% for lifetime billings with that client between $500.01 and $10,000, and 5% for lifetime billings with that client that exceed $10,000. If you’re a new freelancer on Upwork, you’ll also be charged a 3% processing fee on your first withdrawal.
