When you’re ready to give your Shopify store a new look, resetting your theme is a great way to start fresh. This will remove all of your customizations and allow you to start from scratch.

There are a few different ways to reset your Shopify theme. You can do it from the Admin section of your store, or you can use an app like ThemeKit.

If you want to reset your theme from the Admin section, go to Online Store > Themes. From there, click on the Actions drop-down menu for the theme that you want to reset and select Edit code. In the Layout folder, find the theme.liquid file and click on it.

Once you’re in the theme.liquid file, scroll down to the very bottom and add this code:

{{ ‘reset’ | asset_url | script_tag }}

Save your changes and then go back to the Online Store > Themes page. Click on the Actions drop-down menu again and select Publish. This will reset your theme and remove all of your customizations.

PRO TIP: If you are planning to reset your Shopify theme, it is important to note that this will delete all of your current theme settings. This includes your site’s logo, colors, fonts, and layout. Before proceeding, we recommend backing up your current theme so that you can restore it later if needed.

If you want to use an app to reset your Shopify theme, we recommend ThemeKit. It’s a free app that makes it easy to customize your shop’s look and feel without having to edit code.

To use ThemeKit, first download the app from the Shopify App Store. Once it’s installed, go to Apps > ThemeKit and click on the Connect button. This will connect ThemeKit to your shop’s theme files.

Next, click on the Reset button. You can then use ThemeKit to customize your shop’s look and feel without having to edit code.

Resetting your Shopify theme is a great way to give your store a fresh start. It’s quick and easy to do, and it will remove all of your customizations so you can start from scratch.
