Is GoDaddy POP or IMAP?

Last updated on September 25, 2022 @ 4:25 pm

When it comes to email, there are two main types: POP and IMAP. POP stands for ” POP3 ” and IMAP stands for ” IMAP4 “.

GoDaddy is a company that provides POP3 and IMAP email services.

POP3 is a cheaper and older type of email system. It works by having the email server “pops” the email messages into the user’s inbox.

PRO TIP: When sending or receiving emails, you may be asked if your email service uses POP or IMAP. GoDaddy uses POP (Post Office Protocol). This means that when you download your emails from the server to your computer, the emails are removed from the server.

This can be slower than using an IMAP system, which sends the messages directly to the user’s computer.

IMAP4 is the newer type of email system. It works by having the email server “imaps” the messages into the user’s inbox.

This is faster than using a POP3 system, and it also allows the user to access the messages from any computer. GoDaddy also offers IMAP accounts for free, which is a great feature.
