Is SSL Free on AWS?

When it comes to security, there is no one-size-fits-all answer. That said, many experts believe that SSL (Secure Socket Layer) is a valuable tool for online security.

Therefore, it is important to ask whether SSL is free on AWS.

Currently, SSL is not free on AWS. However, there are a few ways to get SSL without paying. One option is to use a third-party provider such as CloudFlare.

PRO TIP: While Amazon Web Services (AWS) does offer SSL certificates at no cost, there are several important considerations to take into account before using them. First, AWS SSL certificates are only valid for one year and must be renewed annually. Second, AWS SSL certificates can only be used on Amazon-owned domain names such as *.amazonaws.com. Finally, AWS does not support wildcard SSL certificates.

CloudFlare offers a free SSL certificate for AWS users. Another option is to use a Amazon SSL Certificate Manager (ASCM) feature to create and manage your own SSL certificates.

If you choose to use a third-party provider or Amazon ASCM, make sure you understand their terms and conditions. Also, be sure to review the security features of each option.

SSL is a valuable tool for online security, but it is not free on AWS.
