What are SPF records HostGator?

Last updated on September 25, 2022 @ 7:31 pm

SPF records are an important part of your website’s email security. They tell Gmail, Hotmail, and other email providers that your domain is authorized to send email from your account.

If your domain is not authorized to send email from your account, your email might not be received.

PRO TIP: SPF records are used to prevent email spoofing. Email spoofing is when someone sends an email pretending to be someone else. This can be used for malicious purposes, such as phishing or fraud.

HostGator does not allow email spoofing and will block any emails that contain spoofed sender information. If you are using HostGator for email, you will need to make sure that your SPF records are correctly configured.

If you are not sure how to configure your SPF records, please contact HostGator support.

HostGator offers a free tool to create SPF records for your domain. Once you’ve created your SPF records, you can use HostGator’s email forwarding service to send email from your account to your host’s email address.

This way, your email will be automatically filtered and sent to the right people.

HostGator also offers a range of other email security features, such as two-factor authentication and spam filtering. These features make HostGator a great choice for anyone who wants to protect their email account and website from attack.
