What is Azure AD provisioning?

Last updated on September 25, 2022 @ 12:30 pm

Azure AD provisioning is a process that lets you create, configure, and manage user accounts and groUPS in Azure AD. You can use provisioning to create new user accounts, assign user accounts to groUPS, and configure group policies.

You can also use provisioning to create user profiles and assign user profiles to groUPS.

When you create a user account, Azure AD provisioning creates the user’s account in Azure AD and copies the user’s account information to the user’s account in your on-premises Active Directory. Azure AD provisioning also creates a user profile for the new user.

The user profile includes the user’s name, email address, and password.

You can use provisioning to assign users to groUPS in your on-premises Active Directory. When you assign a user to a group, Azure AD provisioning creates a group object in your on-premises Active Directory and copies the user’s account information to the group object.

Azure AD provisioning also creates a user profile for the new user in your on-premises Active Directory. The user profile includes the user’s name, email address, and password.

PRO TIP: Azure AD provisioning is a process that allows you to automatically create and manage user accounts in Azure Active Directory (AD). This can be useful if you want to provision new users in your organization or if you want to automate the management of user accounts. However, it is important to note that provisioning users in Azure AD can be a complex process, and it is recommended that you consult with an Azure AD administrator before attempting to provision users.

You can use provisioning to create user profiles for users in your on-premises Active Directory. When you create a user profile, Azure AD provisioning creates an object in your on-premises Active Directory that represents the user’s account in your on-premises Active Directory.

You can use provisioning to configure group policies in your on-premises Active Directory. When you configure group policies, Azure AD provisioning creates an object in your on-premises Active Directory that represents the group.
