What is the difference between editor and administrator in WordPress?

Last updated on September 25, 2022 @ 12:52 am

An editor is someone who is primarily responsible for content management in a WordPress site, while an administrator is someone who has more general authority over the site’s settings and functions. Editors can manage posts, pages, and themes, and may also be able to modify other aspects of the site.

PRO TIP: If you are not careful, you could end up with two copies of your WordPress site – one for the editor and one for the administrator.

Administrators, on the other hand, can manage users and groUPS, add new posts and pages, and make more extensive modifications to the site’s settings and functions.
