What Is Viewer-Restricted on Figma?

Figma is a vector graphics editor and design tool, developed by Silicon Valley startup Figma. The software is available via web browser, and as a desktop app for macOS, Windows 10 64-bit and Linux Debian-based distributions.

In Figma, vector objects such as text, rectangles, and ellipses can be created and edited using node editing tools. These objects can be further customized via the software’s style panels, which offer control over fill color, stroke width, font family and other properties.

PRO TIP: If you are viewing a Figma file that has been marked as viewer-restricted, it means that the file owner has limited the visibility of the file to only people they have invited. This means that you will not be able to see any of the content in the file unless you are invited by the owner.

Designers can also add Images, SVGs, and 3D objects to their projects. All of these objects can be grouped together and placed on different layers for easy organization. The software also offers a collaborative editing feature, which allows multiple users to work on the same project at the same time.

Figma’s viewer-restricted feature allows you to share your designs with people who don’t have a Figma account. With this feature enabled, viewers will not be able to download, copy or export your design.

They will also not be able to leave comments or make changes to your design. This makes it ideal for sharing sensitive or confidential information with clients or team members who don’t need access to the full design file.
