Last updated on October 1, 2022 @ 7:22 am

There are two ways to figure out which version of Squarespace your site is on. First, you can look at the bottom of your site’s home page. Second, you can log into your site’s Dashboard and look at the version number in the upper-right corner.

Version Numbers

The version number for your site appears in two places: at the bottom of your site’s home page, and in the upper-right corner of your Dashboard.

To find your version number on your home page:

  • Open your site in a web browser and scroll to the bottom of the home page.
  • In the footer, find the Powered by Squarespace link.

Your site’s version number appears to the right of this link.

To find your version number in your Dashboard:

If an update is available, you’ll see a message indicating which version you’re currently running and what the latest version is. To update your site, click Update Now.

Important: We recommend backing up your site before updating it.

Version History

7.1 – Lazy Loading Images (June 27, 2019)
We added lazy loading for images. Lazy loading defers loading images until they’re visible in the browser viewport. This can improve initial page load times, especially for sites with many images.

7.0 – Block Editor (May 30, 2019)

The Block Editor is our new drag-and-drop editor that makes it easier than ever to build beautiful pages with our pre-designed content blocks.

To find out what version is my Squarespace site, one can look at the bottom of their home page or log into their Dashboard and look at
the upper-right corner for the version number.
