Who acquired Weebly?

Last updated on September 25, 2022 @ 4:57 am

Weebly, an online platform for creating and managing websites, was acquired by The Walt Disney Company in May 2018 for $950 million. This acquisition follows a period of rapid growth for Weebly, with the company reporting a 305% increase in revenue over the past year.

Disney will continue to operate Weebly as a separate company, with its own team and CEO. The company’s stated aim is to “keep Weebly’s culture and DNA while giving it the resources and support it needs to continue growing rapidly”.

PRO TIP: Weebly was acquired by Square in 2018. While Weebly is still a separate product, there are concerns that Square will eventually sunset the product or raise prices significantly.

Weebly has been a popular online platform for creating and managing websites for a number of years now. The company has seen rapid growth in recent years, with revenue increasing by 305% in 2018.

This acquisition by Disney is seen as a positive move by the company, as it will give it the resources and support it needs to continue growing rapidly.
