Why Is My Website Down Squarespace?

Last updated on October 1, 2022 @ 1:04 am

There are a few reasons why your Squarespace website might be down. It could be due to an issue with your internet connection, your browser, or Squarespace’s servers. If you’re having trouble accessing your website, here are a few things you can try:

1. Check your internet connection

First, make sure you have a stable internet connection. If you’re on a public Wi-Fi network, try connecting to a different network. If you’re using a cellular data connection, try moving to a different location or connecting to a Wi-Fi network.

2. Restart your browser

If you’re using an outdated or unsupported browser, you may have trouble accessing Squarespace features. We recommend using the latest version of Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, Microsoft Edge, or Safari. To update your browser:

Chrome: go to Settings > About Chrome and click Update Chrome.

Firefox: go to Help > About Firefox. Firefox will automatically download updates and prompt you to restart the browser.

Edge:: go to Settings and more > Settings > About Microsoft Edge.

Edge will automatically download updates and prompt you to restart the browser.

Safari (MacOS only):: go to Safari > Preferences > Software Updates, then click Check for Updates. If updates are available, click Install Now.

3. Clear your browser’s cache and cookiesChrome: : go to Settings > Privacy and security > Clear browsing data .

Select “Cookies and other site data” , then click Clear data .

Firefox: : go to Delete cookies to remove the information websites have stored about you .

Select Manually delete cookies stored on your computer , then click Delete Cookies and Close .

Note: if you’re signed in to any websites, they may still have information about you stored in their own databases .

Safari (MacOS only): go to Safari > Preferences > Privacy , then click Manage Website Data . Select one or more websites, then click Remove or Remove All .

Microsoft Edge : go to Settings and more > Settings > Site permissions . Under Cookies , select See all cookies and site data , then Remove all .

4. Try accessing your site from a different device or browser

If you’re still having trouble accessing your site after trying the steps above, try accessing it from a different device or browser. This can help narrow down whether the issue is with your computer or Squarespace’s servers

PRO TIP: If you are experiencing issues with your Squarespace website, there are a few things you can do to troubleshoot the problem. First, check to see if your site is down for everyone or just you. If it’s just you, the issue is likely on your end and you can try clearing your cache or using a different browser. If the issue is on Squarespace’s end, they will usually have an outage page that will provide more information.
