Why Is Shopify Charging Me?

Shopify is an ecommerce platform that allows individuals and businesses to create online stores. It offers users a customizable platform, an easy-to-use checkout process, and a wide range of features.

However, some users have complained about being charged unexpectedly by Shopify. In most cases, these charges are the result of one of the following:

  • Shopify’s free trial period
  • When you first sign up for Shopify, you’re given a 14-day free trial. After this trial period ends, Shopify will automatically start billing you for their services. If you don’t want to continue using Shopify after the free trial, you’ll need to cancel your account before the end of the trial period.

  • A Shopify subscription
  • If you’ve been using Shopify for awhile, you may be subscribed to one of their paid plans. These plans range from $29/month to $299/month, and they all come with different features and benefits.

If you decide that you no longer want to use Shopify, you’ll need to cancel your subscription.

  • Shopify’s transaction fees
  • All paid plans except for Shopify Lite include 2% transaction fees on credit card purchases. So if you make a sale for $100, Shopify will charge you an additional $2 in transaction fees. If you’re not happy with these fees, you can cancel your account at any time.

Conclusion:

If you’re wondering why Shopify is charging you, it’s most likely because you’re either subscribed to one of their paid plans or you’ve been using their free trial period. In both cases, if you don’t want to continue using Shopify, you’ll need to cancel your account.

PRO TIP: If you are wondering why Shopify is charging you, it is most likely because you have signed up for a paid subscription. If you are not sure why you are being charged, please contact Shopify support for more information.
