Why Is Squarespace Not Letting Me Edit?

Last updated on October 1, 2022 @ 12:00 am

There are a few potential reasons why Squarespace may not be letting you edit your site. It could be that your site is in maintenance mode, which means that you can’t make changes to it until the mode is turned off. It’s also possible that you don’t have the correct permissions to edit the site, or that the site is password protected.

If you’re still having trouble, the best thing to do is to contact Squarespace customer support and they should be able to help you figure out what’s going on.

Here are a few potential reasons why Squarespace may not be letting you edit your site:

1. Your site is in maintenance mode. This means that you can’t make any changes to your site until the mode is turned off.

To do this, you’ll need to login to your Squarespace account and go to the ‘Settings’ tab. From there, you should be able to turn off maintenance mode.

2. You don’t have the correct permissions to edit the site. If you’re not the owner of the site, then you might not have the permissions necessary to make changes. You’ll need to contact the owner of the site and ask them to give you editing privileges.

3. The site is password protected. This means that only people who know the password can access and make changes to the site. If you don’t know the password, then you’ll need to reach out to the person who created the password protection in order to get access.

If you’re still having trouble editing your Squarespace site, then your best bet is to reach out to customer support for help. They should be able to troubleshoot the issue and get you up and running again in no time!

PRO TIP: If you are having trouble editing your Squarespace website, it is most likely due to one of the following reasons:

1. Your site is not connected to a domain. In order to edit your site, you must first connect it to a domain.

2. Your site is in trial mode. Trial mode allows you to experience all of Squarespace’s features, but does not allow you to publish your site. To publish your site, you must upgrade to a paid plan.

3. Your account has been suspended. If your account has been suspended, you will not be able to edit your site. Please contact Squarespace customer support for more information.
