How Do I Compress a JPEG in Photoshop?

Last updated on September 24, 2022 @ 1:26 pm

There are many ways to compress a JPEG in Photoshop, but the most common and effective method is to use the Save for Web feature. This feature allows you to significantly reduce the file size of your JPEG without compromising quality or losing important data.

PRO TIP: When compressing a JPEG in Photoshop, be aware that the image quality will suffer. The further you compress the image, the more noticeable the artifacts and degradation will be.

To compress a JPEG in Photoshop, open the image you want to compress and go to File > Save for Web. In the Save for Web window, select JPEG from the drop-down menu and adjust the quality until you are happy with the file size. Once you have selected the appropriate settings, click Save and choose where you want to save the file.

By using the Save for Web feature in Photoshop, you can easily compress JPEGs without losing any quality.
