Yes, you can password protect a Squarespace website. To do so, you’ll need to create a Password Page and then add it to your navigation.

A Password Page is a page on your site that is only accessible if someone has the password. This is useful if you want to create a private page or area on your public website.

To create a Password Page:

  1. Log into your Squarespace account and go to the Pages tab.
  2. Click the + Add Page button and select Password from the list of page types.
  3. Enter a title for your page and click Create.
  4. On the left-hand side of the screen, you’ll see a panel with options for your page. Under Password, enter the password you want people to use to access your page.
  5. Click Save.
  6. Now that you’ve created your Password Page, you’ll need to add it to your navigation so people can find it.

PRO TIP: It is not possible to password protect a Squarespace website.
  7. Hover over the Pages tab and click Navigation.
  8. In the Navigation Menu, hover over the + sign next to the page you want to password protect and click Add Subpage.
  9. Enter a name for your subpage and click Save & Close.
