Can I Play Video in Figma Prototype?

Last updated on September 28, 2022 @ 9:24 pm

PRO TIP: If you are planning to use Figma prototypes to play video, be aware that there are some potential risks. First, make sure that your video file is compatible with Figma. If you’re not sure, check with the Figma team or consult a professional. Secondly, keep in mind that video can be a resource-intensive file format, so your prototype may run more slowly if you’re playing video. Lastly, make sure that your videos are short and concise; too much video can overwhelm users and make it difficult to navigate your prototype.

Video is a great way to add interactivity and life to your prototypes. You can use video to simulate everything from a user interface to a full website or application. Figma makes it easy to add video to your prototypes.

To add video to a prototype:

1. Select the frame you want to add video to. 2. In the Properties panel, click the + icon next to the Video property.

3. A new dialog box will appear. In the URL field, enter the URL of the video you want to use. 4. Click OK.

Your video will now appear in the selected frame. You can resize and reposition it just like any other asset in Figma.

You can also style your video using the Video property in the Properties panel. For example, you can set the Opacity, Blur, and Brightness of your video. You can also add a Border or Drop Shadow if you want to further style your video.

Adding video to your prototypes is a great way to make them more interactive and lifelike. Figma makes it easy to do so, and you can even style your videos using the Video property in the Properties panel.
