Can You Put Animations in Figma?

Last updated on September 28, 2022 @ 9:29 pm

Figma is a vector graphics editor and design tool, primarily used in interface design and prototyping. It is available as a web app, macOS app, and Windows app. As of October 2019, the Figma desktop app is in beta.

Figma has many features that allow for a variety of design possibilities. One of these features is the ability to add animations to your designs. Animations can be used to add visual interest, or to help communicate a message more effectively.

PRO TIP: While it is possible to add animations in Figma, it is not recommended as it can lead to decreased performance and unexpected behavior. If you do choose to add animations, be sure to test them thoroughly before publishing.

To add an animation to a Figma design, first select the element that you want to animate. Then, click on the “animate” button in the toolbar. This will open up the animation panel, where you can choose from a variety of different animation options.

Once you’ve selected an animation option, you can then customize it further by adjusting the timing, easing, and other properties. Once you’re happy with your animation, you can then preview it by clicking on the “play” button in the bottom left corner of the panel.

So, can you put animations in Figma? Yes!

Figma’s animation feature is easy to use and offers a lot of flexibility in terms of what you can do with it. So if you’re looking to add some visual interest or movement to your designs, give it a try!
