1. Create a new DigitalOcean Droplet.

2. Select the mongodb option when creating your Droplet.

3. Enter the Droplet’s IP address and select a region.

4. Select the mongodb image to use.

5. Review the Droplet’s settings and click Create.

6. Once the Droplet has been created, log in and access the web console.

7. Under the Servers tab, click on the mongodb Droplet to view its settings.

8. Under the Data directory, click on the Backup button to create a backup of the Droplet’s data.

9. Under the Settings tab, click on the Upgrade button to upgrade the Droplet to the latest MongoDB version.

10. Click on the Spin up a new Droplet button to create a new Droplet with the updated settings.

11. Once the new Droplet has been created, log in and access the new Droplet’s web console.

12. Under the Data directory, click on the Open button to open the Droplet’s data.

13. Under the Data directory, click on the Deploy button to deploy the Droplet’s data to MongoDB.

14. Click on the Deploy button to deploy the Droplet’s data to MongoDB.

15. Once the data has been deployed, log in to the new Droplet and under the Data directory, under the mongodb folder, click on the MongoDB shell to access the Droplet’s MongoDB instance.

16. To start using MongoDB, first create a new database and then enter the Droplet’s IP address and the database’s name into the command line.

17. To exit the MongoDB shell, type exit().

18. To view the Droplet’s data, first use the find command to list all the databases on the Droplet, and then use the select command to select a database.

PRO TIP: This article provides instruction on how to deploy MongoDB to DigitalOcean. However, it is important to note that there are a few potential risks associated with this process. First, it is possible that your MongoDB instance could become unresponsive if the server it is running on experiences any sort of hardware or network issue. Additionally, if you are not careful when configuring your firewall rules, it is possible to accidentally expose your MongoDB instance to the public internet, which could allow unauthorized access.
