How Do I Add a Review Widget to Squarespace?

Last updated on December 21, 2022 @ 3:54 pm

Adding a review widget to your Squarespace site is a great way to increase customer engagement and grow your business. There are a few different ways to add a review widget to your site, and each has its own benefits.

Adding a Review Widget Using Squarespace Blocks

Squarespace makes it easy to add review widgets to your site using their built-in blocks. To add a review widget using a Squarespace block:

1. Log in to your Squarespace account and go to the page where you want to add the review widget.
2. In the left sidebar, click on the “+” icon.
3. A pop-up window will appear with a list of blocks. Scroll down until you find the “Reviews” block and click on it.
4. The review widget will be added to your page. You can then customize it by adding your own title, rating, and review text.

Adding a Review Widget Using Code

If you’re comfortable working with code, you can also add a review widget to your Squarespace site using HTML and CSS. This method is a bit more advanced, but it gives you more control over how the review widget looks on your site.

To add a review widget using code:
1. In the left sidebar, click on the “+” icon and select “Code” from the pop-up window.
2. A text editor will appear where you can enter your HTML and CSS code. Copy and paste your widget code in this area.

Adding a Review Widget Using a Plugin

If you’re using WordPress, there are many plugins that allow you to easily add review widgets to your site. One of our favorites is WP Review Pro, which is available for free from the WordPress plugin repository.

To add a review widget using WP Review Pro:

PRO TIP: If you are not familiar with HTML or CSS, we recommend that you seek help from a Squarespace Expert before attempting to add a review widget to your site. Review widgets can be complex, and adding one to your site without knowing how it works can result in serious errors that could take your site offline.
    1. Install and activate WP Review Pro. You can do this by going to Plugins > Add New in your WordPress dashboard and searching for “WP Review Pro”. Alternatively, you can download the plugin from the WordPress plugin repository and upload it to your site manually.

2.Create a new review. To do this, go to Reviews > Add New in your WordPress dashboard.

3.Enter your review details. This includes things like the title of your review, what you’re reviewing, your rating, and your actual review text.

    4. Publish your review . Once you’re happy with how everything looks, click on the “Publish” button to make your review live on your site.

Adding a review widget is an easy way to increase customer engagement on Squarespace sites. There are three main ways to add them – using Squarespace blocks, code or plugins – each with its own advantages.
