Adding an animation to your Figma design is a great way to add some life to your project. However, before you can add an animation, you need to create a frame in After Effects.

To do this, open After Effects and create a new composition. Then, create a new layer and add your Figma file to it.

Once your Figma file is imported into After Effects, you can begin animating it. To do this, select the layer that you want to animate and go to the “Animations” tab.

From here, you can add keyframes to your layer by clicking the “+” button. Once you’ve added keyframes, you can edit their values by clicking on them and dragging them to the desired position.

PRO TIP: Please be advised that the following After Effects animation tutorial for Figma is for intermediate to advanced users. This tutorial involves using keyframes and may be confusing for beginners.

You can also add easing to your animations by selecting the keyframe and clicking the “Ease” button. This will open up a menu where you can select from a variety of easing options. Experiment with different easing options until you find one that looks good.

Once you’re happy with your animation, you can export it as a .gif or video file. To do this, go to the “File” menu and select “Export”.

From here, choose either the “GIF” or “Video” option and select your desired settings. When you’re finished, click “Export” and choose a location to save your file.
