How do I add an image to a layer in Photoshop?

Adding an image to a layer in Photoshop is relatively easy. The first thing you need to do is open the image you want to add to the layer in Photoshop. Next, you need to select the layer you want to add the image to. Finally, you need to click on the “Add Image” button in the toolbar.

PRO TIP: When adding an image to a layer in Photoshop, be sure to use the appropriate layer type. If using a Background layer, double-click it to unlock it first. Then, drag the image onto the layer or use the “File > Place” menu command. Finally, use the “Layer > Smart Objects > Convert to Smart Object” menu command to convert the layer into a Smart Object.

This will open the “Add Image” dialog box. In this dialog box, you will need to select the resolution of the image you are adding. You can also choose to add an image as a transparent layer.
