How Do I Add an SPF Record to Wix?

Last updated on January 7, 2023 @ 6:51 pm

If you want to add an SPF record to your Wix site, there are a few things you need to know. SPF stands for Sender Policy Framework, and it’s a way to help prevent email spoofing.

By adding an SPF record to your Wix site, you can help ensure that emails sent from your domain are more likely to be delivered.

Exciting update! We've collaborated with Wix to offer WBI users with a free plan for all website creation needs - Explore the details here.

PRO TIP: If you are considering adding an SPF record to your Wix website, be aware that this may result in decreased deliverability of your emails. This is because Wix uses a shared IP address for all of its customers, and many email providers will flag emails coming from a shared IP as spam. In addition, Wix does not support custom DNS records, so you will not be able to use a subdomain for your email address. We recommend that you use a dedicated email service such as Google Apps or Microsoft 365 instead.

Adding an SPF record to your Wix site is easy, but there are a few things you need to know first. Here’s what you need to do:

    1. Log in to your Wix account and go to the Dashboard.
    2. Click on the gear icon and select Site Settings from the drop-down menu.
    3. Click on the Domains tab and then click on the Advanced Settings button.
    4. Scroll down to the DNS Settings section and click on the Add Record button.
    5. In the Add DNS Record window, select TXT from the Type drop-down menu.
    6. In the Name field, enter “@” (without the quotes).
    7. In the Value field, enter the SPF record you want to add. For example: “v=spf1 include:spf.wix.com ~all” (without the quotes).
    8. Click on the Save button.
