How do I add interactions in InVision?

Last updated on September 24, 2022 @ 8:50 pm

Adding interactions in InVision is a breeze. There are a few different ways to approach this, but the easiest way is to use the InVision Interactions panel.

This panel is located in the lower right corner of the InVision interface, and it contains a variety of different tools and panels that you can use to add interactions to your designs.

First, you’ll need to create a new interaction. To do this, click on the Interactions panel and then click on the New button.

This will open the New Interaction dialog box, where you can name your interaction and choose a type. In this tutorial, we’ll be using the New Button interaction type.

Once you’ve named your interaction, you’ll need to choose a trigger. This is the event that will trigger the interaction.

In this tutorial, we’ll be using the Click button as our trigger.

Next, you’ll need to choose a response. This is the action that will be performed when the interaction is triggered.

PRO TIP: When adding interactions in InVision, be sure to test them thoroughly before publishing. Interactions can easily break, especially if they are complex, so it is important to make sure they are working as intended before making them live.

In this tutorial, we’ll be using the Show button as our response.

Finally, you’ll need to choose a context. This is the context in which the interaction will be triggered.

In this tutorial, we’ll be using the Viewer context.

Once you’ve finished setting up your interaction, you’ll need to add it to your design. To do this, click on the Interactions panel and then click on the Add button.

This will open the Add Interaction dialog box, where you can choose which element the interaction will be attached to. In this tutorial, we’ll be attaching our interaction to the New Button element.

Once you’ve added your interaction, you’ll need to test it out. To do this, click on the Viewer context and then click on the New Button element.

This will trigger the interaction and show the Show button. Click on the Show button to test the interaction.
