How Do I Batch Optimize Images in Photoshop?

One of the most important aspects of image optimization is batch processing, or the ability to process a large number of images at once. This can be a huge time saver, especially when you have a large number of images to optimize. In this article, we’ll take a look at how to batch optimize images in Photoshop.

First, open Photoshop and go to File > Automate > Batch. This will open the Batch dialog box.

In the Source section, choose the location of the images you want to process. You can choose to process all images in a folder, or select specific images.

PRO TIP: When batch optimizing images in Photoshop, be sure to keep an eye on the file size of the resulting images. If the file size of the optimized images is significantly larger than the original file size, it may be best to optimize the images individually.

Next, select the Destination folder where you want the optimized images to be saved. You can also choose to save the optimized images in the same location as the originals.

In the Action section, select an action from the drop-down menu. This is the action that will be applied to all of the selected images. If you don’t have any actions created, you can create one by clicking on the ‘New Action’ button.

Finally, click on the ‘OK’ button to start the batch process. Photoshop will now go through all of the selected images and apply the chosen action to each one. Depending on the number of images and complexity of the action, this may take some time to complete.

Batch processing is a great way to save time when optimizing images in Photoshop. By automating repetitive tasks, you can free up your time to focus on other aspects of your workflow.
