If you’re running a Shopify store, you might want to blackout certain days where shipping is unavailable. This could be for a holiday, or just because you’re closed for business. Whatever the reason, blacking out dates on Shopify is easy to do.

First, log into your Shopify admin and go to the Settings page. From there, click on the Checkout tab.

Under the Order processing section, you’ll see a checkbox that says “I don’t want to ship orders on certain days”.

Check that box and then click “Save”.

Now, a calendar will appear. You can click on any day that you want to blackout and it will turn red. Any orders placed on a blacked-out day will not be shipped until the next available shipping day.

PRO TIP: If you are planning to blackout dates on your Shopify store, it is important to take into account the time zone of your customers. Depending on where your customers are located, you may need to adjust the date and time of your blackouts accordingly. Additionally, keep in mind that blacking out dates on your store will prevent all customers from placing orders during those times.

That’s all there is to it! Blacking out dates on Shopify is easy and only takes a few seconds to do.
