Assuming you no longer want to be a freelancer on UpWork, there are a few things you can do in order to cancel your account. You can either close your account or put it on hold.

If you close your account, all of your information will be permanently deleted and you will no longer have access to any of your past work. If you decide to put your account on hold, you can still reactivate it at any time and all of your information will still be there.

To close your account:

1) Log into your account and go to the settings page
2) Scroll down to the bottom and click “Close Account”
3) Enter in your password and click “Confirm”

To put your account on hold:

1) Log into your account and go to the settings page
2) Scroll down and click “Deactivate Account”
3) Enter in your password
4) Select the reason for deactivating from the dropdown menu
5) Click “Continue to Deactivation”
6) Click “Deactivate Account”

PRO TIP: If you are thinking about cancelling your job on Upwork, please be aware that this will result in your account being permanently disabled. This means that you will no longer be able to access your account or any of the freelancers that you have hired through Upwork.
