Photoshop is a widely used photo-editing software that offers a number of features and options for users. One of the things that you can do in Photoshop is change the text direction.

This can be useful if you want to create a mirror image effect or create text that runs vertically instead of horizontally. In this article, we’ll show you how to change text direction in Photoshop.

To change the text direction in Photoshop, you’ll need to use the Transform panel. This panel gives you control over the size, orientation, and other characteristics of your text. To open the Transform panel, go to Window > Properties. Here you can find the Transform panel as well as the Character Panel where you can adjust other significant settings of your text.

PRO TIP: Please be aware that changing the text direction in Photoshop may result in the text becoming distorted or difficult to read. If you are unsure about how to change the text direction, it is recommended that you seek help from a professional or ask someone with experience for assistance.

Once the Transform panel is open, look for the Rotate option. This is where you can change the text direction from horizontal to vertical.

NOTE: As a default, the Rotate angle is set to zero.

Simply set the Rotate angle to either 90° or –90° and your text will now run vertically.

NOTE: You can also experiment with other angle values such as 30° or 60° which will make your text have a diagonal orientation.

You can also experiment with mirror orientations using the options Flip horizontal and Flip vertical in the Transform panel.

That’s all there is to it! Changing the text direction in Photoshop is a simple task that can be accomplished in just a few seconds. So next time you need to create some mirror image text or vertical text, remember to use the Character panel and Orientation option.
