How Do I Change the Color of One Layer in Photoshop?

There are times when you may want to change the color of one layer in Photoshop without affecting the other layers. This can be accomplished by changing the layer’s Blending Mode or by making a selection on the layer and then using a Hue/Saturation Adjustment Layer.

If you want to keep the original colors of your image intact, you can use the Blending Mode option to change the color of one layer. To do this, go to the Layers Panel and select the layer you want to change. Then, click on the Blending Mode drop-down menu and choose Color.

This will allow the colors of that layer to show through while changing its overall color.

PRO TIP: If you are not familiar with Photoshop, or if you are not comfortable working with layers, do not attempt to change the color of one layer. Doing so could permanently damage your image.

You can also use a Hue/Saturation Adjustment Layer to change the color of one layer while keeping the other layers intact. To do this, go to Layer > New Adjustment Layer > Hue/Saturation. In the Hue/Saturation dialog box, check the Colorize box and then adjust the Hue slider until you get the color you want. You can also adjust the Saturation and Lightness sliders to get your desired effect.

Both of these methods can be used to change the color of one layer without affecting the other layers in Photoshop.
