How Do I Change the MX Record Priority on Wix?

Last updated on January 4, 2023 @ 11:36 am

If you’re using Wix as your website builder, you may be wondering how to change the MX record priority. The MX record priority is the order in which mail servers are tried when delivering email to your domain.

By default, Wix sets the MX record priority to 10. However, you can change this priority to any number between 0 and 999999999.

GREAT NEWS:

Exciting update! We've collaborated with Wix to offer WBI users with a free plan for all website creation needs - Explore the details here.

To change the MX record priority on Wix, follow these steps:

    1. Log in to your Wix account.
    2. Click the My Sites tab at the top of the page.
    3. Click the Manage Site button next to the site you want to edit.
    4. Click Domain Settings in the left-hand sidebar.
    5. Click Manage DNS Records. The DNS Records page will open.
    6. In the MX Records section, click the pencil icon next to the MX record you want to edit.
    7. In the Priority, enter a new priority number between 0 and 999999999.
    8. Click Save. Your changes will be saved.
PRO TIP: If you are not familiar with DNS records or comfortable working in your domain’s DNS zone file, we recommend that you contact your domain host’s support team for assistance. Making changes to your DNS records can disrupt your website’s email service if not done correctly.
